Tips for treating your Mum on Mother’s Day
As many of you will know, this Sunday is Mother’s Day in the UK. Chances are lots of you have already decided how you’re going to treat your Mum and you’re very well prepared for the day. But, for those of you that are a bit less organised and aren’t sure what to do for Mother’s Day, we’ve put some tips together to help!
Although we should show our Mother’s that we love them all the time, Mother’s Day is a nice way of making everything about her for a whole day. Your Mum isn’t an area of your life you want to be scrimping on but if you are trying to save money at the moment or stick to a tight budget, don’t worry, there are still some great ways you can treat her on Sunday…
Take her out for the day – giving your Mum your time is more important than anything you could buy her, so going out for the day together doesn’t have to cost a fortune and you don’t have to go anywhere extravagant. Just going for a walk is a lovely way to enjoy each other’s company or taking a look around your local shops.
Cook dinner for her – instead of taking your Mum out to a fancy restaurant and spending lots of money, why not cook a meal at home instead? You know her favorite foods and it’s easy to find recipes online, and the ingredients won’t cost half as much as eating out would. Plus, she’ll love the amount of thought, time and effort you’ve put in.
Bake her a cake – it’s a great way to say ‘thank you’ and won’t cost you much at all. If she has grand-kids, why not get them involved with decorating the cake as well for some extra fun and to make it even more special. Baking takes time and we’re sure your Mum will appreciate the effort you’ve gone to in order to do something nice for her.
Create a photo album – what’s the most important thing to your Mother? You! And the rest of your family of course. So why not print off some photos of your family that you know she’ll love and create a personalised photo album for her. We’re sure she’d choose this as a Mother’s Day gift over a bottle of expensive perfume any day.
Start a memory jar – all you need is an empty glass jar, any size you like, and a pad of sticky notes – then write down as many happy memories you have of your Mum, or fun times you’ve had together (get her grandkids and other family members involved too) and put them in to the jar. On Mother’s Day she can open the jar and read all of the memories you and the family and written down for her! It’s a really thoughtful gift that any Mother is sure to love.
If you are planning to buy your Mum a gift for Mother’s Day don’t forget to use your Qmee rewards, or you could even use your rewards to cash out to a gift card and give that to her.
