The strangest crowdsourced projects

Being money-conscious can sometimes be fun – as well as using Qmee you can always get others involved to raise the money you need – crowdsourced  projects have proved to be a great hit over the past few years, here are some of the weirdest and most wonderful examples!

After Detroit’s Mayor declined the idea of creating a giant Robocop statue the internet pulled together to create a monument of the city’s protector. They raised around $67,000 towards the first stage of creating the 10 foot creation.

The most recent oddity was a project to raise money for a ordinary man to make an ordinary potato salad – out of the $10 goal how much do you think they raised? That’s right, a whopping ¢52,198!

Do you have any others to add?
